The Trenches is a paper-trading extension for Axiom.trade and GMGN. It is in public beta and maintained by a small team, so support runs through our Discord server — that is where bugs get answered fastest and where new builds are announced.

Activation

The icon shows a pink “!” and nothing appears on Axiom

The extension is installed but not activated yet. Access is reserved for members of our Discord server. Click the extension icon, copy the code it shows you, then open #extension on Discord, click Activate the extension and paste the code. The popup unlocks by itself — you do not need to close it. Codes are valid for 24 hours; if yours expires, reopen the popup to get a fresh one.

“Cannot reach the verification service. Retrying…”

The extension could not contact our activation server. Check your internet connection, and whether a VPN, a corporate proxy or an ad blocker is blocking the request. If it persists for more than a few minutes, tell us on Discord — it may be on our side.

“This device was replaced or its access was removed”

Each activation is tied to one browser profile. You will see this after reinstalling the extension, clearing your browser data, switching computer, or if your access was revoked. Verify again with the new code shown in the popup. If you believe your access was removed by mistake, ask on Discord.

I want to move to another computer

Open the popup and click Unlink this device (click twice to confirm), then activate again from the other machine. Note that your simulated portfolio does not follow you: it is stored in the browser, not on our servers.

Installation

Chrome refuses to load the folder

In chrome://extensions, Developer mode must be on (top right), and Load unpacked must point at the folder that directly contains manifest.json — not the folder above it. Keep the unzipped folder where it is: Chrome reads it in place, so deleting or moving it breaks the extension.

Nothing shows up after installing

Reload the Axiom or GMGN tab — a tab that was already open when you installed will not pick up the extension. If the badge still does not appear in the bottom right, confirm the extension is enabled in chrome://extensions and that you are on axiom.trade or gmgn.ai.

While trading

Prices or PnL look frozen

Prices come from public market data and can be rate-limited during heavy traffic. Reload the page. If a token has no liquidity or was just launched, its price may be unavailable for a while.

The interface broke after an Axiom or GMGN update

That is the most common cause of a sudden bug: the extension reads the real interface, so a redesign can break it overnight. Report it and a fixed build usually ships quickly.

Did I just spend real money?

No. Every buy and sell is intercepted before it leaves the page. The extension never touches your wallet, never signs anything, and cannot send a transaction. If you ever see a real wallet confirmation popup while using The Trenches, stop, reject it and report it to us immediately.

Reporting a bug

The extension can send a diagnostic report to our Discord server for you: use the report button in the extension panel. It sends technical details about what went wrong — nothing else — and one report is accepted at a time to avoid spam.

You can also post in #bugs. A useful report has: your build number (shown in the extension panel), the site and page you were on, what you expected, what happened, and a screenshot.

What support does not cover

Real trading. The Trenches is a simulator. We cannot help with real orders, real balances or lost funds on any exchange.
Wallets, seed phrases and private keys. We never ask for them, and nobody from our team ever will. Anyone who does is scamming you.
Financial advice. Simulated results are not a prediction of real ones, and nothing in the extension is a recommendation to trade.
The platforms themselves. We are not affiliated with Axiom.trade, GMGN or DexScreener; issues with their own services go to them.

Response time. The Trenches is a beta run by a small team. We answer as fast as we can on Discord, usually within a day. Broken-by-a-redesign bugs are treated first.
